Rent or buy a thermal box for medical deliveries in the UAE?

If you move medicines, vaccines or samples in the UAE, there are two ways to get a qualified thermal box: order a delivery where the box and a logger come with the trip, or buy SafePack boxes and run the deliveries with your own team. The right answer depends on who carries the shipment, how often, and who keeps the temperature record.

What a delivery with the box included costs

The zone is set by the farthest point of the route from our hub in Jebel Ali. Rates below are for a pre-conditioned SafePack box with a logger, up to 20 kg; every extra kilogram adds AED 2.

What buying costs

A reusable SafePack PPU box needs a set of cold packs for the required range. For +2…+8 °C the price list recommends:

Temperature record: a reusable SafePack S3 BT temperature logger costs AED 192; a single-use Bluetooth logger that stays with the shipment costs AED 49.
For a fixed site, a SafePack HUB (AED 620) collects logger data over Bluetooth and uploads it via Wi-Fi.

A quick sum

Ten deliveries within Dubai in a SafePack box with a logger cost AED 850 before VAT. A SafePack SP-9 PPU with its +2…+8 °C cold packs and a reusable logger costs AED 756 once. The comparison is not like for like: the delivery price also covers the driver, the vehicle, conditioning of the cold packs and the temperature report. Buying pays off when those already exist in your team.

Four questions that decide it

How many shipments, on which routes? A regular route between your own sites favours your own boxes; irregular trips across emirates favour a delivery with the box included.
Who carries them? Buying a box does not buy a courier. If you have no one to drive, the box stays on the shelf.
Where will the cold packs be conditioned? Conditioning needs freezer or fridge space and a written procedure; a box packed with unconditioned packs is not a qualified box.
Who keeps the temperature record? Your auditor will ask for it. With a delivery we send the report; with your own boxes, reading and filing the logger data is your process.

Do I keep the SafePack box after a delivery?

No. In the delivery rate, the box and the logger are rented for the trip. To keep packaging, buy it from the SafePack price list.

How long does a SafePack box hold +2…+8 °C?

Selected configurations hold the range for up to 96 hours under defined conditions. We choose the configuration for the route and the trip duration.

Can I see the temperature during the trip?

The logger records every minute; the data is read over Bluetooth, and we send the temperature report after delivery.

Are the prices with VAT?

No. All rates and prices exclude 5% VAT, which is added on the invoice.
